Vying Games : Wiki : Getting Started

Okay, so the Vying Games Wiki is not really a typical wiki. It's a little rough around the edges right now, but more features are on the way.

Every page in the wiki has a title and a path. The title of this page is Getting Started and the path is /wiki/getting_started. These little kernels of info appear in the title of the 'WIKI MENU'. For example: WIKI MENU FOR Getting Started (/wiki/getting_started).

Each page is a simple text document that's rendered as markdown. To link to any document in the wiki use path as the url. For example, to link to this page, you'd use /wiki/getting_started as the url (example: Getting Started).

Paths that look like /games/nameofgame are special. These should be used for the games rules, and will have a different layout than the typical wiki page. For example /games/othello (Othello).

If you link to a path that doesn't exist, people who click the link will be taken to a form to create the page. On that form you'll be asked to provide a Page Title, Article Text, and a Message. The message is strictly for the history, and should be a brief statement explaining what you did.

The easiest way to get started is to go to the click the source link for an article. This shows the raw Article Text as it was typed into the page by other users. Try viewing the source for this page!
