Vying Games : Help

System Requirements

This website in general, but very particularly in the case of actually playing games makes heavy use of javascript. You'll need just about any modern web browser with javascript enabled. We've tested Vying Games on:

• Firefox 1.5 (on Mac OS X)
• Firefox 2.0 (on Linux)
• Safari 2.0 (on Mac OS X)
• Opera 9.1 (on Linux)
• Internet Explorer 7.0 (on Windows)

If you use one of those browsers, you should be okay. If you use an older version of one of those browsers (or something else) it's a toss up. Older browsers, in particular, are not likely to display the game boards correctly, if at all.

If you use a different browser and would like to tell us whether or not Vying Games is working for you, please email us at support@vying.org.

There are slight differences in the appearence of Vying Games on each of these browsers, but the overall functionality is surprisingly consistent. As development continues, we'll do our best to support the widest range of browsers possible.

Canvas Support in Internet Explorer

This site makes fairly heavy use of canvas tags, which are supported in in many web browsers (Firefox, Safari and Opera, for example), but are not supported in Microsoft's Internet Explorer. We use Google's Explorer Canvas library, which adds canvas functionality to Internet Explorer.

The upside is that everything works the same in all web browsers. The downside is that Explorer Canvas is not very fast. As such, we've had to disable animation in some of the games. They're all still playable, but without animation the experience may not be as enjoyable.

We believe the games are still playable in Internet Explorer, but you may find that Vying Games performs better in other browsers.
